Moving students between courses in Mimic Personal Finance only loses a portion of their work. Please see below of what will/will NOT be lost when transferring a student:
What This Tool Transfers (If Matches Exist)
The following student-related data is matched and transferred:
- Housing & Assets: Home, Vehicle, Apartment
- Finances: Bills, Financial Goals, Payment History
- Loans: Mortgage, Auto Loan, Personal Loan, Student Loan
- Employment: In-Class Job(s), Recurring Income
- Purchases: Shopping Mall Inventory
- Academics: MPF Grades, Performance Reviews
- Banking: Bank Accounts, Pay Stubs
- Investments: Stock Portfolios
- Healthcare: Plan enrollments, including deductibles, premiums, and splits
What Happens When a Match Is Not Found
If the destination course does not contain equivalent data, the tool handles unmatched items as follows:
- A new Home, Vehicle, or Apartment will be created with “(Transferred)” appended to its name.
- A new shopping mall inventory item will be created with a remaining quantity of 0, making it exclusive to the student.
- A new In-Class Job will be created and assigned only to the transferred student.
- A new Healthcare Plan will be created for the transferred student using their current enrollment values, with “(Transferred)” appended to the plan name.
- Any unmatched MPF Grades or Performance Reviews will be removed and backed up in the transfer log, which can be provided upon request.
