Personal Finance Simulation | How do I create a course template?

When personalizing your Personal Finance simulation for you and your students, you can absolutely perfect the perfect setup and items. You can save these into a course template and apply them uniformly between all your courses.

Things that you can save are Bills, Financial Goals, Shopping Mall items, Perks, Real Estate, Cars, Healthcare, and the HR Center items. 

Tip: We recommend creating templates on demo courses before creating your upcoming courses. This makes it much easier to apply the template as the course is being created rather than applying later. 

Steps to create a course template:

1. Once within the Personal Finance Simulation, you'll select Courses on the left hand side. Here you can select Create Template
   
   
   
2. Here you can choose where to copy the template from and the Template Name you would like set. 
   
   
   
3. When choosing from the Template to Copy From, you have the option to create one with one of your courses to copy over to future courses or to share with colleagues and friends. Likewise, you can also copy others' templates as well to your course. All you'll need is their template key. This can be found in Courses within the simulation under Templates. 
   
   
   
   
4. Once you select Use key from another Template or Course, it will have you enter the Template Key.
   
5. Then you'll select Add to add the template to your list. 
   
   
6. Once you have added the template, you can view all current templates by going to Courses on the left and then selecting Template:
   
   
7. Here you can edit your template name with the pencil, or even delete the template. You'll also be able to view your code for your template to share.
   
   
   

If you have already created your course, you can also apply templates to which items you would like imported into the course. 

1. Go to the section you would like to import items to(e.g. Perks below) and select the drop-down in the upper left-hand corner, select the template and select Import. 
   
   
   
2. This will import any items that are not duplicates. 

Where is my template code to share with others?

1. To find your Template code, you'll select courses on the left-hand side and then select Templates. Here you can copy the code of the template you would like to share with others.
