Canvas Users | Location URL from Assignment Link

As a student (or instructor), sometimes you will encounter an issue or error with launching Stukent from Canvas assignment. To help troubleshoot this, our LMS Support team may ask for items called 'Location URL' and 'JWT' information. These items are some of the crucial pieces of troubleshooting. Follow the steps below to obtain that information.

Please find the option below that fits what your instructor has set up for your class.

Option 01: Assignment Launch Link Opens in a New Tab

When you click on the assignment in Canvas, determine if it keeps you in Canvas, or if it opens a new tab with the Stukent launch button (like the examples below).

If the Stukent launch button opens in a new tab, copy the URL located at the top in the URL box like shown in the second screenshot. This is what you'll send to Stukent's LMS Support.

Option 02: Assignment Launch Link Stays in Canvas

If when you click on the assignment from Canvas, and shows the blue launch button (as shown below), you'll want to use the steps in this section depending on which browser you're using. If needed, review the screenshot below to check if your assignment link opens in Canvas.

*You may see either a launch button like below or an error message (depending on what it being troubleshooted).
