Sometimes to fix grade syncing in your course, you will be asked to delete and regenerate grade items. However, you may encounter an issue where the checkbox needed to delete the grade item is greyed out and cannot be selected:
If you are experiencing this, it is because the grade item is associated with a deep-linked assignment.
You can see which assignment a grade item is associated with by clicking on the Question Mark symbol next to the grade item name.
Please Note: Associating your grade items with deep-linked assignments will break the grade syncing connection. As you finish disassociating and deleting grade items, please do not re-associate the grade items at a later time.
Disassociating Grade Items
To disassociate each grade item you need to delete, please do the following:
- In D2L/Brightspace, go to Content. Select the assignment the grade item is associated with.
- Change the "Assessment" section within the assignment settings to "--- No Grade ---", then click Save.
Once you have disassociated all Stukent grade items you were unable to delete, you will be able to go back to Grades > Manage Grades > More Actions > Delete, and delete them as normal.
