Sometimes to fix grade syncing in your course, you will be asked to delete and regenerate grade items. However, you may encounter an issue where there is not a "delete" option on an assignment.
If you are experiencing this, it is because the grade item is associated with the deep-linked assignment. You can tell this is the case by the title being hyperlinked to an assignment.
Please Note: This associated grade item is not Stukent-generated, and so it will not allow score syncing. If you see this in your gradebook, there is a setting that needs to be adjusted in the assignment that will remove the grade item.
Removing the Associated Grade Item
To remove the incorrectly associated grade item, please do the following:
- In Moodle, either click on the associated assignment link from the gradebook, or go to Course and select the assignment the grade item is associated with. Click on "Settings" for that assignment.
- Click the Privacy drop down, and uncheck the "Accept grades from the tool".
Please Note: This setting should never be checked on. Do not re-check this setting after fixing score syncing in your course.
Once you have this setting unchecked, the grade item is automatically removed from the gradebook. You will be able to proceed with deleting any other Stukent grade items in Moodle and regenerating them.
