Depending on an institution's needs, the LMS Admin may want to default the Stukent app to either be hidden or visible in a course's navigation menu.
Whether you are using a Root-level or Course-level installation, here are the steps to find and update the placement visibility.
PLEASE NOTE: We strongly recommend finalizing these visibility settings before the start of a new semester. Changing this placement setting while a semester is in progress can cause the tool to disappear or appear unexpectedly in active courses, which may confuse instructors and students.
- In Canvas, navigate to Admin in the global navigation bar and select your account.
- Select Apps in the left menu > Click the Manage tab > Search Stukent > Select the Stukent App.
- Click the Configuration tab, then select Edit at the bottom of the page.
- Navigate to the Placements section.
- To keep the tool hidden: Ensure the Default to Hidden option is turned ON. This keeps the course visible navigation menu clean; instructors must go to Settings > Navigation to enable it.
- To make the tool visible: Ensure the Default to Hidden option is turned OFF. This automatically adds the Stukent link to every course’s visible navigation menu.
- Select Update Configuration at the bottom of the page.
You have now updated the visibility of the Stukent tool within instructor's courses.
