All/Specific Assignments
No student scores have synced for specific/all assignment(s).
Course Copy Issue
Often, this occurs when assignments were not course copied properly. The grade items are still pointing to the course you copied from and will not allow syncing.
Resolution:
You will need to reach out to support@stukent.com so they can confirm the steps you will need to take to resolve the score syncing issues in your course. It is possible you will need to delete grade items and regenerate them using the content manager.
Gradebook Association
If you have the grade setting "Allow Stukent to add grades in the gradebook" turned ON, then it will create it's own associated grade item and will break the grade syncing for the correct grade item.
How to Check:
Deep link Grade settings:
Gradebook line item is marked as "External Tool" and is a link to the deep link (it should instead say "Manual Item" and not be a link or show the external tool puzzle piece symbol).
Resolution:
- Unselect the Grade setting "Allow Stukent to add grades in the gradebook" and Save.
- Manually delete the Stukent grade item(s) in the gradebook.
- Regenerate the Stukent grade items using the Stukent Content Manager: Moodle 4.X.+ Instructors | Regenerating Gradebook Items and Score Syncing
Specific Students
Some students' scores are syncing, but specific students' scores are not.
This occurs if a student has been accessing Stukent incorrectly by directly logging in to my.stukent.com instead of launching Stukent from a Moodle link/button.
Ways to prevent this issue:
- When using the Stukent integration with Moodle, never send students a join link. This creates a login for the students and never allows the connection between the Moodle gradebook and student Stukent account to be made. Students will have SSO through the Stukent integration.
Resolution:
You will need to:
- Have the student launch Stukent from a Moodle link/button.
- Once this has been done, reach out to Stukent Support at support@stukent.com and ask them to resync that specific student's scores. Our support team has the ability to sync a specific student's scores rather than resyncing and overriding every student's scores.
Random Scores Across Students/Assignments
While this occurs only rarely, we have received reports of this happening more often with CYU assignments and Simternship rounds.
We cannot usually determine the exact reason for a random score to not sync, but here are best practices students should use to avoid these issues:
- Always open Stukent from a Moodle assignment link.
- Avoid leaving Stukent open in the background. Please close Stukent after each use and relaunch it from Moodle fresh for every new session.
- Complete work in a space with a strong internet connection.
Resolution:
If score sync issues are happening randomly, then there may not be much we can do. We sincerely apologize for the issue, and ask that you report this to support@stukent.com. Stukent support can sync individual scores if you provide them to us, or you may choose to manually enter the score yourself.
