D2L/Brightspace Instructors: How to Copy Stukent Material from a different D2L Shell

Stukent supports course copy for your course materials within D2L/Brightspace, making it easy to roll over your course materials from previous semesters. When you import Stukent deep links and grade items into a new D2L shell, you can:

• Seamlessly re-link your course: Duplicate your previous Stukent course and connect the new copy directly to your current D2L shell.
• Preserve link placement: If you import Stukent materials along with your other course materials, it will automatically update deep links while keeping them in their exact positions within your D2L Content.
• Keep custom titles: Retain any customized deep link names you created in your copied course.
• Maintain grade settings: Carry over your custom point values and adjusted grade settings without re-entering them.

Here are the steps for copying your Stukent materials into a new Blackboard shell:

1. Open the D2L shell you would like to copy Stukent content into.
2. Navigate to Content.
3. Do one of the following:

a. In the Table of Contents, click on Import Course and select Copy Existing Course.

OR

b. Access your Course Administration and select Import / Export / Copy Components.

4. Click on Search for offering.

5. A pop up window will appear. Search for and select the course you would like to copy content from, then click Add Selected.

6. At the bottom of the page, select either Copy All Components (copy everything in that D2L shell) or Select Components (copy selected material from that D2L shell). 

Once course copy has been completed, you can click on View Content to see the copied material in your course.
