LMS Canvas | Multiple Quiz Attempts and Score Syncing Errors

If you notice incorrect scores syncing from Stukent to your Canvas Gradebook, there are a few common causes for this issue, but it's typically a quick and easy fix.

First, ensure that the 'Submission Attempts' for the assignment is set to unlimited. This will help guarantee that all grades sync correctly. If you have only set two attempts on the Stukent side, don't worry, this won't affect the students' attempts in Stukent, only the grade syncing.

To adjust unlimited attempts for an assignment in Canvas, follow these steps:
1. Log into Canvas: Go to your Canvas course and log in.
2. Go to Assignments: On the left-hand course navigation menu, click on Assignments.
3. Select the Assignment: Find and click on the assignment you want to adjust the number of attempts for.
4. Edit the Assignment: On the assignment page, click the Edit button at the top right.
5. Scroll to Submission Details: In the assignment editing page, scroll down to the Submission Type section.
6. Set Unlimited Attempts: Under Attempts, click on the dropdown menu and select Unlimited.
7. Save Changes: After selecting unlimited attempts, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

After you have made changes, you'll want to resync your scores over from Stukent to Canvas. Keep in mind, that this will override any manually entered scores. Instructors | Sync Scores to LMS

You'll also want to check for any late penalties you may have. This can contribute to alternate scores for students as well.

To check late penalties in the Canvas Gradebook, follow these steps:
1. Log into Canvas: Go to your Canvas course and log in.
2. Go to Grades: On the left-hand course navigation menu.
3. Access Gradebook Settings: In the settings menu(gear icon) within the Gradebook.
4. Here you can check which Late Policies you have enabled in your course that may be contributing to the altered scores and if you need to make any adjustments.

You may also check the due dates and available dates for the assignments as well. This can contribute with this late policy.

To check due dates and assignment open dates in Canvas, follow these steps:
1. Log into Canvas: Go to your Canvas course and log in.
2. Go to Assignments: In the left-hand course navigation menu, click on Assignments.
3. Select the Assignment: Find and click on the assignment you want to check.
4. View Due Date and Open Dates:

If you make any adjustments to these dates that may affect the late policy on the assignment, you may need to resync scores to Canvas to apply any changes that may be affecting the scores. Instructors | Sync Scores to LMS

Any point value changes to your assignments, you may need to sync scores after doing so. Just keep in mind that this will erase any manually entered grades from Stukent. However, it will automatically adjust those points to the point value you have on your Canvas.
