Blackboard Instructors | Regenerating Gradebook Items and Score Syncing

At this time, the Stukent integration does not support course copy in Blackboard. Because of this, if a course was copied in Blackboard, past course grade items can linger in the gradebook and cause confusion and/or grade syncing issues with the current course.

This article will provide steps on cleaning up the Blackboard gradebook, and then regenerating the proper grade items for your current course.

If you have any questions about whether your grade items are from a past or current course, please contact your Customer Success Manager for more information.

Step 01: Clean up Blackboard Gradebook

1. Go to your Blackboard course.

2. Go to the Gradebook tab, and then click the Gradable Items.

3. To delete grade book items in Blackboard, locate the grade item, click the three dots to the right of it, and select Delete.

Step 02: Reset the Stukent Assignment Manager

5. Once the items have been deleted, go to the Content tab in Blackboard.

6. If using Blackboard Ultra, navigate to the Content Market and select Stukent Content.

         a. If you are using Blackboard Original/Classic, use the Build Content dropdown and select Select Content.

7. Deselect the Add to Gradebook checkboxes for the assignments in the course (do this for each product in your course). Click Update.

Step 03: Regenerate Correct Stukent Grade Items

8. Once it finishes updating, reselect the Add to Gradebook checkboxes for the assignments you want in the gradebook for each product. Click Update. This will regenerate those items in the gradebook.

Step 04: Syncing Existing Scores

Now that the correct grade items are in the Blackboard gradebook, you can adjust the point value so that synced scores will adjust accordingly.

If you have scores that need to be synced to the Blackboard gradebook now that the correct grade items are generated, follow the steps in this help guide: LMS Instructors | Manual Sync Scores to LMS and FAQ's

If you run into any issues, please contact your Customer Success Manager. If you are unsure who that is, review this page: Schedule Time with Customer Success Manager.
