Moodle 4.X.+ Instructors | Regenerating Gradebook Items and Score Syncing

At this time, the Stukent integration does not support course copy in Moodle. Because of this, if a course was copied in Moodle, past course grade items can linger in the gradebook and cause confusion and/or grade syncing issues with the current course.

This article will provide steps on cleaning up the Moodle gradebook, and then regenerating the proper grade items for your current course.

Step 01: Clean up Moodle Gradebook

1. Go to your Moodle course.

2. Go to the Grades tab, find the Grader Report dropdown, and then select the Gradebook Setup.

3. To delete grade book items in Moodle, locate the grade item, click the dropdown to the right of it, and select Delete. Do this for all Stukent assignments.

 

Step 02: Reset the Stukent Assignment Manager

5. Once the items have been deleted, go to the Course tab in Moodle.

6. Ensure Edit Mode is On. Find and click on the Add an activity or resource option located at the bottom of a topic.

7. Click on External Tool. (If you are using Moodle 4.4.+, click the Stukent icon.)

8. On this new page, set the Preconfigured tool to Stukent. Next, click Select Content.

 

9. Deselect the Add to Gradebook checkboxes for the assignments in the course (do this for each product in your course). Click Update.

 

Step 03: Regenerate Correct Stukent Grade Items

10. Once it finishes updating, reselect the Add to Gradebook checkboxes for the assignments you want in the gradebook for each product. Click Update. This will regenerate those items in the gradebook.

 

Step 04: Syncing Existing Scores

Now that the correct grade items are in the Moodle gradebook, you can adjust the point value so that synced scores will adjust accordingly.
