LMS Troubleshooting and FAQ's

Note: This article is intended for students and instructors AFTER the Stukent course has been successfully linked to the LMS.

Why do I see a blank screen when I launch to Stukent from my LMS?

There are a couple of reasons why this is happening: 

  1. You have not paid for your materials yet. To access the paywall for Stukent, you will need to use the main Stukent launch link from your LMS course. Once you've paid for the materials, you can use any of the Stukent links in your LMS course.
  2. If you are still receiving a blank screen, this could be an issue with the primary email being used (if you have used Stukent in the past). Please locate the email on your LMS account. Once you've done this, reach out to our Support Team to inform them you are receiving a blank screen when launching to Stukent, and provide a screenshot of your LMS primary email. They will be able to help determine if there is a discrepancy with the email on your account, or if further troubleshooting steps need to be taken.

 

Why do I see the message "Your instructor has not setup your courseware yet."?

Please let your instructor know if you see this message. It could indicate one of the following:

  • Your instructor is not using the LMS integration and has a different method for you to join their Stukent course.
  • There is an issue with the integration, and your instructor will need to work with our Support team to resolve it.
  • *If you are seeing this in Canvas, there is also the possibility that there are two Stukent tools installed in your course. Check the side navigation in your Canvas course to see if there are two "Stukent" tools available. If there are, try the other tool you haven't clicked on and let your instructor know.

Why isn't Stukent launching when I click "Launch" or "Open Stukent"?

If you are attempting to launch Stukent from your LMS, but it does not take you to a new page or tab, check the pop-up blocker settings in your browser. Because our tool will open in a new tab, pop-up blockers will prohibit this action.

Why aren't my scores syncing?

This can be indication that Stukent has been accessed incorrectly. If your course is linked to an LMS like Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc., you must always access Stukent through your course. Using a stand-alone link like "my.stukent.com" or a bookmarked link, can cause an issue like this.

To resolve this for future assignment scores, make sure that you access Stukent only through a "Stukent" link connected in your LMS course.

Why do I see a blank "Error" message when trying to launch Stukent?

This could be caused by a number of reasons. However, students have had success resolving this error by doing the following:

  1. Using a laptop or desktop computer (using a mobile device is strongly discouraged)
  2. Clear cache and cookies. Here is a guide with those steps: Clear Cookies and Cache on All Browsers
  3. Turn off pop-up blockers that may be on within your browser.
  4. Log out of your LMS, and then log back in.
  5. Launch Stukent.

 

If you have taken the steps above and are still not able to launch Stukent, please reach out to the Support team and include the following information:

  • Screenshot of the error
  • Screenshot of the link you are clicking
  • what kind of device you have used
  • which browser you have used

 

Instructors

When and how will the scores display in the LMS gradebook?

Scores will be sent to the LMS gradebook within minutes of a student submitting a quiz or round. If it is not showing up, you can try the "Sync Scores to LMS"* button located in the Stukent Instructor Portal.

*Disclaimer: Using the “Sync Scores to LMS” button will override any manually entered or adjusted point values on Stukent assignments within the LMS gradebook.

Where do I change dates after my course is linked?

Currently, once you have linked your Stukent course to the LMS, you will need to change start/due dates in both your LMS and on the Stukent platform.

Can I change the products in my course after it's linked to the LMS?

Technically yes. However, the new product will not be linked to your LMS. This means no assignments for the new product will be generated nor will scores be synced to the LMS for that product. 

If you find that you accidentally linked a course with the wrong product, please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to help you on next steps. It will most likely be recommended to unlink the current course, create a new Stukent course, and then link the new one. However, it would be best to work with your CSM to see if there are any alternative steps that can be taken.

*Canvas Users: Why are my students seeing "Your instructor has not setup your courseware yet.", but it shows as linked for me?

This is usually an indication that there are 2 Stukent tools installed in your course. Please reach out to the Support team to help resolve this. As part of your message to Support, you can confirm if you have 2 tools by taking the following steps:

  1. Go to "Settings".
  2. Go to "Apps".
  3. Click on "View App Configurations".
  4. Check for multiple "Stukent" tools in the list.
  5. Take a screenshot of what it looks like to include in your message to Support.
